Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located in the bustling heart of Tsim Sha Tsui on Lock Road, Chee Kei is a must-visit destination for lovers of authentic Chinese noodles. This charming noodle bar captures the essence of Hong Kong’s vibrant culinary culture with dishes that offer comforting warmth and genuine local flavor. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or settling in for a satisfying dinner, Chee Kei’s menu invites you to indulge in traditional favorites crafted with care.

Chee Kei’s signature wonton noodles are a standout, earning praise for their perfectly plump prawn-filled wontons nestled in a broth that strikes a delicate balance — both light and rich, subtly layered with flavors that soothe and invigorate the palate. The noodles themselves have a firm, springy texture, providing an ideal bite that complements the silky wontons. Alongside the classic wonton soup, fans also rave about the beef tendon and beef ribs noodles, the dry shrimp wonton noodles, and the comforting crab congee, a dish that combines tender crab meat and crab roe for a luxurious taste experience.

The ambiance at Chee Kei is casual yet inviting, perfect for enjoying a fulfilling meal amid the lively neighborhood of Tsim Sha Tsui. The restaurant thoughtfully offers set lunches—complete with a drink and a plate of pickles—that bring great value, although some customers have noted that clearer communication about these offers at dinner time could enhance the dining experience further.

One memorable visit to Chee Kei comes through the eyes of regulars like Surendran, who appreciates the thoughtful touches like a barley drink with ginger or mushroom soup, amplifying the meal’s comforting qualities. Another customer highlights the convenience of an English menu and attentive service, making it easy for non-Cantonese speakers to navigate and enjoy a diverse selection of local favorites.

From the aromatic bowls of wonton soup to hearty congee and tender meat dishes, every bite feels like a warm embrace of Hong Kong’s rich noodle heritage.

Decent noodle bar, tasty noodles and meat. Service is good but can be better. If you provide set meals at dinner time, you have to let your customers know.

I visited Chee Kei during my time in Tsim Sha Tsui and had a really pleasant experience. I ordered their wonton soup meal, along with a barley drink with ginger and a mushroom soup. The wontons were nice and plump with prawn filling, and the noodles had a good firm texture. What stood out the most was the soup broth — it was very flavourful, light but rich at the same time, which made the whole bowl really comforting. The barley and ginger drink was refreshing and something a bit different from the usual drinks. Their service was fast as well as i was served quickly and the que was not long. Totaling to 108hkd, thats not bad. One thing I noticed was the service. I had read some reviews online saying the waiters could be rude, but that wasn’t the case during my visit. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when they accidentally took the wrong order. They handled it politely and made sure everything was sorted out.Overall, it was a simple but satisfying meal, and I’d happily come back again if I’m around the area.

Delicious wonton noodles at the very popular Tsim TSA Tsui area on Kowloon Island. It’s in Lock Road next few door from the famous Sheng Jian Bao. They have set meals and English menu just in case you don’t speak Cantonese or read mandarin. We got beef tendon , beef ribs noodles , shrimp wanton soup noodle, prawn dumpling dry noodles , and porridge with shrimps wanton. The dry shrimp wanton noodles was nice , it was noodles tossed in oyster sauce and noodles was cooked al dente. Prawn dumpling is a good alternative too if you prefer meat and shrimps together. If you don’t want noodles , you can get shrimp wanton in porridge !

I ordered crab congee. The set included a crab with a crab cracker, two Chinese deep-fried dough. two pieces of tissue paper and two clean wipes. The congee was mixed with crab meat and crab egg. The taste wasn't too salty and went well with the rice. The portion is enough for 1-2 people. But I think tissues were not enough if you have to crack the crab that's soaked in the congee.
